Description

Morphology/ physical description
Its dorsal fur is dark brown to black, and the underside is dark brown to dark grey. The head is small and the tail long. Flying Squirrels possess a supple skin flap which extends from the length of the body to all four feet 



Habitat and Ecology
inhabit both primary and secondary forests in the lowlands and foothills of mountains in Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo. Large trees provide potential nesting cavities for this nocturnal species. Because they have been found near human villages in Malaysia.

they may disperse seeds, pollinate flowers, or spread fungal spores

Because so little is known about black flying squirrels, no conclusive economic benefits are listed for this species
