Description
Tholymis tillarga or commonly known as Old World Twister is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. It has amber-brown tinted patches on its hindwing followed by the area of white pruinescence with the hindwing measuring up to 35 mm for male. While the immatures and females have similar characteristics but lacking white patches. This dragonfly is commonly found in standing and slow-flowing water in all types of open habitats with an altitude up to 1,500 m above sea level. It is widespread in tropical Asia, Africa and Australasia (Orr, 2005).
