Characteristic
Deciduous shrub (to 10-15' tall) or small tree (to 15-30' tall).
Morphology

Trunk 
The bark is smooth, silvery gray.

Foliage
Fragrant, alternate, thickly papery; stipules 1-1.2cm; petiole  2-5cm; leaf blade broadly ovate, deeply lobed with 3-5 lobes, irregularly toothed on the margins, rough on the upper surface, soft hair on the underside.

Flowers
Blooms inside the infructescence, small and inconspicuous.
Medicinal Used
  • antimicrobial, antinociceptive, antipyretic, hypotensive and anti-dysentery remedy.
  • Its latex and some fruit extracts are used by indigenous communities to treat skin disorders, inflammation, piles, vomiting, leprosy, malaria, nose-diseases and cancer besides the use as a general tonic.
