Description

Neurothemis ramburii, also called Red Percher is a species of dragonfly that belongs to the family Libellulidae. Its hindwing may measure about 28-30 mm for male and has a strongly incurved margin which can be separated from Neurothemis terminata. While the female has dark wings marked as male. The Red Percher is commonly found in ponds, drains and marshes in open, disturbed habitats at an altitude up to 800 m above sea level. It is rare in Peninsular Malaysia and widespread in Sundaland, the Philippines and further to the north and east (Orr, 2005).
