Description

Macrodiplax cora (Cora’s Pennant) is species of skimmer dragonfly from the family Libellulidae. It is also known as Coastal Glider and Wandering Pennant. Its hindwings may measure up to 33 mm in length. Macrodiplax cora can be recognized by its large head, rather pointed wings with pale, open venation, and relatively short orange abdomen with broken mid-dorsal dark line. The female is similar to the male but paler. This species can be found in open coastal areas, particularly behind the mangroves. Widespread in tropical Asia and Australasia (Orr, 2005).
