Description
Rhyothemis obsolescens (Bronze Flutterer) is a dragonfly species in the family Libellulidae. Its hindwing may measure up to 21.5-23 mm in male. Both males and females have similar characteristics. This species can easily be recognized by its bronze wings with a slight magenta reflex and variegated light and dark markings. Its abdomen is more than twice of hindwing breadth. The Bronze Flutterer likes to perch in sun with depressed wings. It can be found in open, well vegetated, lowland marshes and swamp forest edges. It is widespread in Sundaland (except Java) and Thailand to India (Orr, 2005).
